Open-Xchange Server is a messaging and collaboration solution combining common free software packages, open standards and web services. Open-Xchange Server is available as proprietary software and as a community supported open-source software (GPL 2) package. The company producing Open-Xchange, also named Open-Xchange, is headquartered in Tarrytown, NY, USA, with offices in Germany (Olpe/Nürnberg).
Open-Xchange Express Edition
Open-Xchange Express Edition is a unique web-based open source email and collaboration solution. Designed for smaller organizations, the Express Edition includes: Ubuntu operating system, open source middleware, collaboration, email, and document sharing software, anti-virus, anti-spam, automatic updates and backup/recovery. The browser-based AJAX interface enables drag and drop, right-click menus, shared calendars, contacts, tasks and documents. Open-Xchange Express Edition supports standard 'rich' clients, such as Microsoft Outlook. Outlook users on OX Express can synchronize public, private, and shared folders, accept or decline appointments through Outlook, manage private appointments, tasks, contacts, and “Free/Busy” status.
Open-Xchange Server 5
Open-Xchange Server 5 delivers Critical Collaborative functions such as Email, Calendar, Contacts, and Task management - integrated with advanced groupware features such as Document Sharing, Object Linking, Rights Management, Online Projects, User Forums, and a Knowledge Base. The Open-Xchange integration philosophy is based on common standards, working with existing IT infrastructure on standard interfaces such as WebDAV and XML (commercial version) interfaces and Java API. Server 5 supports:
- SyncML enabled devices.
- Third party software provides access from Treo devices
- Any modern web browser
- Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express via the Outlook OXtender, a plugin that allows the Outlook client to interact with an Open-Xchange Server as though it were a Microsoft Exchange Server
- WebDAV interface (XML), LDAP, iCal, HTTP(S), SMTP, IMAP, POP3, and SyncML.
Hosting Edition
The Hosting Editionenables web-hosting companies to provide Open-Xchange email and groupware as Software as a Service (SaaS). The OX Hosting Edition features an AJAX user interface with automatic updates and drag-and-drop capabilities.

OXtender for MS Outlook 4.2.17 released

New Beta OXtender for MS Outlook 4.2.17 for Open-Xchange Server (Hymalia) released today. This version delivers support of Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Vista and improves stability of the OXtender significantly by some major bug fixes. New Open Source Release

Today we have released 0.8.7-0 of Open-Xchange Server (Hymalia). It is available in our Download Section.
0.8.7-0 is an *unstable* release which contains various significant changes in the calendar module. These changes should fix all existing bugs related to broken recurring appointments (series) or broken timezones. These changes also fix various bugs with the OXtender for MS Outlook. Furthermore, we have reviewed and included some patches provided by the community. Please have a look at the list of fixed bugs below for detailed information.
